If you’re looking for someone to obsess over “beating the market,” that’s not me. If you want a guide to help you use money as a tool to create more joy, spaciousness, and impact in your real life, we’re speaking the same language.

Here’s what that looks like for you:

  • We simplify your finances so you can stop doom‑scrolling spreadsheets and feel clear about your next steps.
  • We talk about your relationships, career, kids, health, and “small p” purpose—not just your portfolio—so your plan actually fits your life.
  • We practice better money conversations (especially for couples and cross‑cultural families) so you’re not carrying the mental load alone.

I was born in rural China, moved to the U.S. in 2012, and hit my own “freedom number” in 2021 at age 36—only to discover my problems did not retire with me. That pushed me into life planning, therapy, and a more honest relationship with work, rest, and purpose. Now, I take about eight weeks off a year for family and personal growth, and I bring that same “live it, don’t just plan it” philosophy into my work with clients.

In my work with clients, I’ve seen that the real magic is steady progress: better choices, more honest communication, and feeling proud of how you’re living, not just what you’re earning. That’s the kind of progress I get genuinely excited to celebrate with you.

If you want a partner who can speak fluent numbers and human at the same time—and keep things as friendly and jargon‑free as possible—I’d love to meet you.

Professional background & credibility

I’ve seen many corners of the finance world: private equity, corporate finance, and now independent financial planning. Along the way, I’ve learned to stand up for everyday people—whether that means pushing back on high fees and big institutions or supporting clients who are brand‑new to financial planning and want a truly fiduciary, holistic approach.

My goal isn’t just to run a firm; it’s to assemble a team of trusted professionals who share this vision and to nudge the industry toward stronger fiduciary duty, kinder financial conversations, and more life‑centered planning.

You can find my perspective in outlets like Bloomberg, Kiplinger, AARP, and Investopedia, as well as spotlighted in ASCPA Magazine and on the New Planner Podcast.

As a CPA, CFP®, and Certified Financial Therapist™, and the author of A Couple’s Guide to Money: Grow Closer, Dream Bigger, Thrive Together, I blend technical expertise with emotional insight so you can feel calmer, more connected, and more at ease with both your money and your life. You can also read more of my thoughts on my blog.
